Teletherapy
What is Teletherapy?
Teletherapy is a safe method to provide speech, physical, occupational, and mental health therapy, virtually. Teletherapy is critical now due to Covid-19, but even prior to the pandemic, this form of therapy was used as an effective tool.
What does a teletherapy session look like?
You will be provided with the link to connect to your therapy session, as well as a list of what materials your child may need. Our team will work with you to ensure a smooth set up and transition to this method of therapy.
Older children will engage with the therapist via video and can participate in therapeutic activities with supervision by the parent. Younger children or children that require more prompting or physical assist do best with a parent-coaching method where the therapist guides the parent in leading the therapeutic activities.
In either scenario, the child, parent, and therapist work closely together as a team, ensuring success.
Benefits of teletherapy?
Kids and parents alike are now very used to communicating through systems like zoom or skype. Our HIPAA compliant video conferencing allows our therapists to connect with children and parents to provide safe and effective therapeutic interventions.
